In loving memory of Elizabeth Day who sadly passed away on 10th June 2016.

Elizabeth (or Betty as she was more often called) was born in 1928, the second of four children (Margaret, Elizabeth, Grace and Philip) to her parents Walter and Gertrude Allcock, who ran a sweet shop in Hucknall. In 1948 she married Ron Wilkes and they subsequently had two children, Geoff and Phil. Phil married Cheryl and had four sons - Richard, Christopher, Paul and Anthony - and Geoff married Sonia and had two sons - Ashley and Nathan. Having lived in various places throughout her life, she returned to Hucknall where she lived for the last 20 years.

In her working life she specialised in admin and she had numerous hobbies including music (including singing and playing the organ), reading and all forms of creative crafts, including machine knitting, dress-making, painting and card making. In particular, all her family would look forward to receiving her creative birthday and Christmas cards.

But the most important thing in her life was her family who will all miss her greatly.
