Connie Barton (24 Jun 1906 - 6 Jun 2016)
In loving memory of Connie Barton who sadly passed away on 6th June 2016.
Mum was born in Leicester on 24th June 1906.She enjoyed dress-making reading and gardening.Mum once sewed a half slip onto the middle of a pair of knickers and had an all in one.She also did some strange things with bra straps to make them easier to put on. I have known Mum to have a dress which turns into curtains which then moved onto cushion covers and finishes its life as hankies. When she bought a new girdle after 30 years she said it was fine and comfy.I found out later she`d cut the waist off taken out the metal bones and trimmed the zip down.Mum moved to The Old Hall in Send on 23rd May 2005.She had fallen and broke her hip the year before. She then went to Molesey Cottage Hospital and from there to The Old Hall. All of the carers took Mum to their hearts. I think the years she spent there were probably some of the happiest times of her life. Dear Mum you will be sadly missed.
Lots of Love from Trish. x x x x

This was the first time that we took Jasmine to see nan at her house, she must have been about three weeks old. Nan took her straight from us and she sat there good as gold, Nan held her for ages until we had to go.
