In loving memory of Ernest Archie Hewes who sadly passed away on 3rd June 2016 aged 74 years. Ernie became our dad around 1968, he was such a lovely man and it was not hard for us to love him, he was loving, caring, kind, funny, I remember he loved fishing and in the 70s would take us all fishing, we all had our own fishing rods and of we went down the docks to catch our fish, but we probably caught more eels than anything else. Ernie worked as a coal man, then went on to HGV driver for many years, he then went on to work in a warehouse in his last years of his working life. He was a very clever man too, he practically Built our house and he use to let us help with pulling down the walls, but we loved helping him, he could turn his hand to anything. Ernie also loved Southampton football team and supported them all his life. Sadly he got very poorly when he retired, but he was a fighter . He Was married to mum for forty years this September, she was the love of his life, just as he was hers. We miss you so much dad and love you dearly.
