Tony
22 years of putting the world to rights almost every day. Maybe we were supposed to be working and applying our combined intellect to the benefit of our employer. It always seemed to be more important to deal with the matters of the day, however inconsequential, than to be doing our duty according to our contracts of employment. Nevertheless, I’m sure we did as we felt we should and offered our joint opinions on all worldly matters.
I used to listen in across the corridor to your debates with our old friend Bob, and later with the younger Geoff. Both sadly gone ahead of you, and with whom no doubt you will be meeting with again.
Tony, me old mate, if only you were still around today, I’m sure we could sort out this EU nonsense and all other current matters and offer advice to all who cared to listen. Alternatively we could sit quietly together in the corner over a few beers and watch it all pass by. It saddens me to realise that we have totally missed out on contact over the few years since we retired. Hopefully we will catch up on all of that in due course.
Look out for me – I’m bound to be catching up with you soon enough. Naturally, it’ll be my round at the bar……..
