Mum, While we mourn your loss, we choose to celebrate your life, your spirit & your indefatigable grit. Fortunately your spirit has been passed down to your grand children, Victoria, Sebastian & Gabriella. Through them, you will live on.

In loving memory of Pauline Harrison who sadly passed away on 20th May 2016
Born Pauline Dowdeswell in 1937 in Nottingham, but moved to Skegness Lincolnshire at an early age, sisters Gladys Doreen & Evelyn, brother Ken. She was the baby of the family, she lived through the terrible floods of Lincolnshire in 1953
Mum met Dad in 1954 at the Notts Miner’s Welfare in Skegness: Dad was in the St John's Ambulance brigade & they had a 2 year courtship during which Dad took many Bus trips from Nottingham.
They were married after the big snow storms in the winter of 1956 & recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Had son Phillip in 1959, always lived (since marriage) in the Nottingham area
If there were two words to describe Pauline (aka Granny) it was Determined & Busy, she rarely sat still.
Out of school she worked at Skegness Laundry
After marrying Dad had a series of Shop assistant jobs before becoming shop managers
She started the Student’s Union shop at Nottingham University, which she grew dramatically over a 12 year period
She became bored with that & ran a restaurant at a Nottingham gay club in the early 80’s, that didn’t last long!
She then became sales manager for a local knitwear company Price & Buckland, where she toured the country, often with Peter as Chauffeur.
Pauline & Peter loved to travel, Italy, Greece, Spain, Malta, Africa, Madeira & many trips to the United States, creating many happy memories
Mum was diagnosed with Myeloma in 2009 & was in extreme pain for 7 years, but never complained. She looked after my Dad after he had a stroke some 6 months after becoming ill herself.
She will suffer no more, rest in peace
