Passed peacefully away on 13th May 2016, aged 70 years.
Dearly loved husband of Marilyn, loving father of Hazel and the late Dawn, father in law of Lee and James, Grandad of Jackson, Matthew, Frankie, Daniel and Katie and a dear brother and brother in law.
Ian will be laid to rest at the Willows Natural Burial Ground, South Croxton LE7 3RZ on Friday 3rd June at 10.15am preceding a Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration of his life at the Kirby Muxloe Free Church, LE9 2AN at 11.30am.

To lose a younger brother is a sad event, especially when distance, and circumstances makes it difficult to be with them. Ian was intending to come out to Australia again however his need to care for his daughter Dawn and his own illness prevented this happening Delia and I would like to offer our heartfelt sympathy and support to Marilyn, Hazel, Lee and the grandchildren in this time of sorrowing.

Ian was a lovely man and a loving Great Uncle and Uncle to his Australian relatives, Darryl, Annalise and Ryan. We will all cherish our fond memories of our times with him when Darryl and Karyn came over to visit, the wedding of Tracy and Darryl, and when Darryl brought his family over a few years ago. He was a proud man with a positive outlook on life, each of his phone calls made our day with his humour and cheeky ways. Uncle Ian will live on with us through our memories and lessons he has taught us. Our deepest condolences to Marilyn and family.

Please accept our deepest condolences Marilyn. Having a natter with Ian about "Black Powder" was always to be looked forward to at our reunions. Charlene thinks you must have a heart like a lion to have gone through the trials you have done over the last few years! Those of us who only got to see Ian on a very infrequent basis will also miss him.
Have some rest, look after yourself now and please find peace.

Dear Marilyn, I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend as I will be in Tanzania. I know Ian was always keen to hear about my visits. It is with great sorrow that I leave without being able to attend as a farewell but I am sure Ian knows all that is going on. He was a lovely, compassionate man and you had both lost Dawn so recently that it seems so cruel for this to happen but we never know the bigger picture or why these things happen. At least Ian is released from his struggle and I am sure he will still be there supporting you in all you do, Marilyn. Please convey my condolences to the family and know that he leaves his legacy in his grandchildren and all you have both done for others. Lots of love xx
