A year Mum, a full year since you've been gone, it seems like an age ago and also two minutes since I saw you. I used to say that I wished I could have one more conversation with you but we always said we wouldn't have settled for one less. I'm grateful for the time we spent together, the endless cups of tea and putting the world to rights. I'm grateful that I shared with you your last precious moments here on earth, God bless you Mum and thanks for being near when I needed you. I'll have a Malibu tonight in your honour. Give our Bri a kiss from me, still loved, still missed, still dear. Love Jan

I know it's a bit weird writing on here again but just wanted to say that I wish you were here to celebrate Christmas with Liam and I. It doesn't seem the same without you, Boxing Day will never be the same that's for certain. Talking of boxing, the year when Liam had the Wii and we brought it round, you playing the replay on the tennis was hilarious and when you did the boxing match I nearly wee'd myself laughing. Thanks for the memories Mum, hope you and our Bri have opened a bottle of Malibu. Miss you still, Merry Christmas. xx

Happy Birthday Mum, we ended up at Accident and Emergency with Dad after all, bloomin' scampi!! Sorry we didn't get to have cake and candles in the garden like we used to, but you know I've been thinking of you cos you have been sending me little signs all day. Thanks for the photo that I thought was lost from the footspa day. You knew it would make me laugh so much. Miss you, Jan

This year we said goodbye to a lady who made a great impact on the lives of those around her... She battled every illness thrown at her and had no sympathy for anyone else that was ill, with the common line of "should have Alzheimers, then they'd really know what being ill was". We said goodbye to the life and soul of the party, with endless rude jokes and a wicked sense of humour. I'm happy that even battling Alzheimers she never lost her sense of family and who they were.. And even though Aunt Bessy came to the rescue on more than one occasion with the Sunday dinner, they just wont be the same.
Today is a time to remember the happy times and the good memories, like trying to play the replay on Wii Sports Tennis.
The dog is lost without you and is reduced to only two meals a day.
Look forward and live for the moment and keep her memory alive. Today we carry on with a part of our word missing.. I have no doubt that all the family and friends that we've loved and lost haven't missed my Nan's afterparty, and it'll continue forever and always in the hearts of those she's left behind.. RIP Nan x
