Edith Johnson (12 Jun 1922 - 3 May 2016)

In loving memory of Edith Johnson who sadly passed away on 3rd May 2016, my mom passed away peacefully in University Hospital , Walsgrave, Coventry. She was born in Birmingham 1922 and registered in Kings Norton, moved to Coventry a few years later as her dad got a job working in the cycle industry. Went to Holbrooks school and married William Hughes in 1945 in Coventry and later divorcing in mid 1960's. Son Michael born in December 1946 and daughter Maureen born in May 1949 both in Coventry. Moved to Fort George in Scotland where my dad was stationed while in the army then we moved to Kingston-upon-Thames as he was transferred to the East Surrey Regiment. Returned to Coventry about mid 1950's where we spent rest of my mom's life, spending the last 30 to 40years of her live in flats at Haynestone Rd Counden. My mom had a number of jobs including working at Navy depot Red Lane, ICI Rotherham Rd and central swimming baths in Coventry.
