In loving memory of Robert (Bob) Harold Thomas who sadly passed away following a short illness on 7th April 2016.

Bob was born in Nottingham on 7th September 1927 , only son of Lesley and Francis Thomas and lived in Nottingham all his life. In the early 1950s he met his future wife, Sheila Ford who was on her first stop from the east coast of Yorkshire in her quest to teach around the world. She never got any further as Bob's charms won her over and they were married in her home town of Filey on 31st March 1956. In 1960 their only daughter, Alison arrived and in 1986 their grandson Thomas. Bob loved his family and was always a proud husband, father and grandfather. Sadly we lost Mum too last year but it is comforting to know that they have been reunited.

He spent his working life as an accounts clerk for the gas board, the magistrates courts and finally British Midland Airways. He was diligent and talented with numbers and was well liked and respected by his colleagues and clients. After he retired he found his true passion and became a member of Queen Anne's Bowling Green in the Park, Nottingham. He played an active part in the club in many different capacities and played bowls until around 4 years ago when chronic obstructive pulmonary disease forced him to give up. However he continued his support as a non-playing member until the end. His hopes of attending the AGM in March were dashed as his health began to fail but he still managed to write s letter giving his apologies from his hospital bed. Bob was easy to know, had a great sense of humour, was loyal and hard working, just some of the traits that earned him so many friends throughout his life and particularly at QABG. He will leave a great hole in the lives of his family and close friends who loved him and will miss him terribly.
