In loving memory of Ian Eade who sadly passed away on 1st April 2016 aged 79 years. He was born 21/04/1936 in Oving, Sussex. He was brought up on the Goodwood Estate until he was 8 years old, he then attended the Oliver Whitby Bluecoat School in Chichester until he was 14 years old.
He moved to Rugby in 1950 to begin an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer at English Electric, during this time he lived in The Lodge at Dunchurch (now the Dunchurch Park Hotel). He met Jean, his future wife at a village dance, where he said "She was holding the wall up!" They married in June 1958 & set up home in Lawford Rd.
He was called up for National Service in 1959 till 1961 & served as a medic in the army in Germany. During this time, Jean managed to find a cottage in Dunchurch & Ian joined her in September 1961 where they both settled down to start a family. Alison & Stephen were born in Dunchurch & they moved to Rugby in 1966 where Adrian was born.
He was treasurer for the AEU & worked at the Willan's works till he retired. He has 4 grandchildren as well as 1 adopted granddaughter.
During the last 15 months of his life he suffered with various illnesses but he never lost his smile & humour. He was a dialysis patient since 2008 & he loved the girls that worked on the Ash Dialysis Unit. He always had to smell good for his girls, using D&G Masculine or Only the Brave Wild just before he left the house on his mobility scooter!
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 3 weeks & 3 days prior to his death which was not treatable so he was cared for at home. He died on April 1st at 19.45 hours peacefully after during the day hearing his family enjoying each others company & then there being a gardening party that had put all his bulbs in the garden as he had planned with his family.
He will be missed by many but those that he has left are comforted by the knowledge that he is now at peace.
