To Dan, I just wanted to say I've been thinking about you, you were always so funny and nice to talk to when we were at school. For some reason you keep entering my thoughts recently, so I just wanted to leave a message and say how missed you are by all of your friends and family. I'm so sad you're not here living your life, it seems strange how much time has passed since I last saw you 😔 Sending you lots of love and hugs in heaven, rest in peace 🕊️✨ Xxx

  • Hi Katherine, thank you for your beautiful words and thoughts above. Time has indeed passed and not a day goes by where Dan isn't in our thoughts as you say. We still see Josh and occasionally Alex in the village and it always brings back memories of their younger years with Dan. It is comforting to know that you all still think about him and remember the nice kind young man he was. Hope you are keeping well, and that life is being kind to you. If you need to talk, we are happy to listen. Thank you and bless, Gareth and Lisa

I worked with Dan at The Tempest in Coleby. He was so funny, well liked and hard working!! His taste in music was great, I lost count of the amount of times I would walk into the kitchen to hear him singing, top of his voice! I loved it as he had the same passion for music as I do and we talked for hours about different groups, especially The Beatles. I will always think of Dan when I hear Hey Jude, when we had a live singer on and he sang that, Dan was always there, singing away too. His name for me was "Aunty Keeley", probably because I took him under my wing and trained him up, generally looked after him, especially when his moped broke down every other week. I haven't seen Dan since he left for Uni but always made sure I kept up to date with his Facebook page and he seems to have had a great time. Taken far too soon!! RIP Dan, fly high and free, lots of love xx

I have read most of these comments on here and can honestly say even though being family we only managed to see each other when the whole family came together but reading these makes me realise that Dan has t changed a single bit in all these years whether it's giving me advice or telling Wendy Sykes that Malcolm should make his own special K.... He hasn't changed a bit. Still giving still caring and still 100% focused on anyone but himself. Defiantly gets it from Wendy's side :) Hey brother do me a favour, and say hi to Wendy and Shaun for me love you loads Dan xxx

Dan and I first met a good five years ago, and I wish I could tell him how much I enjoyed our friendship together. We shared some great memories that I won't forget and I miss going to school with him, working with him and ultimately being his friend. Whilst I believe I am slowly coming to terms with everything, I am still saddened by the loss of such a brilliant person. Somehow they day seems less bright. I wish I could let him know how much he changed my life for the better, how much of influence he was on me. I miss our stupid late-night skype chats and our random conversations on a variety ridiculous topics. He helped to make school bearable, and brightened up my day every time we spoke. Most of all, I wish I could let him know how much I miss him, and for the first time in a long time, I don't have the words to describe my sense of loss. My deepest sympathies go to his family and friends.

Dan, I will cherish the memories we made together until the day I join you. I miss you buddy.

Dan was a close friend of mine and I still haven't come to terms with the fact that he's gone. I've never met anyone like him before, and I doubt I will again. He was one of few people I could talk to about anything without any judgement. He made such an impact on every person he met, he was so full of character. He was the most real person I've ever met, he didn't care if someone judged him for being who he was; from going to get food in his pyjamas to his inappropriate jokes. Dan, I'd give anything to hear one of your jokes again or to hear you laugh or see you smile. Thank you for being a part in my life, for never failing to make me smile and for showing me that I shouldn't be afraid of the world and what other people might think. I love you Dan

Dan was not only my housemate, but one of my best friends. He was always able to cheer me up when I was feeling down, constantly made everyone around him laugh and his smile could light up a whole room. I will always remember singing life on mars with him at the top of our voices one night and realising we had exactly the same music taste, and his massive bear hugs and his wonderfully compassionate nature. He was one in a million, I have never met anyone like him and probably never will again. Thank you for being an unbelievably amazing friend for everyone around you to have known, the world seems a little less empty and a little darker without you x
