I spent a year in Bampton as a student. I was working in East Devon College. I moved in in 1983 and was 20 at the time. The first weeks were sad and lonely until a newly-made friend Isabelle, who ended up sharing my house and I walked in the ""Tiverton INN" for the first time.
From that moment onwards, it all became different. Alan quicly became a close friend . I had rrarely met someone so nice and caring . We had such good laughs , we spent so many grreat evenings with him and his bunch of friends.. He said I reminded him of his daughter and I'm sure he has been a wonderful dad. It is very strange but I woke up this morning thinkung something had happened to him, and here I am on this page reading this sad news.
May he rest in peace , he was a beautiful person that we never forgot and will keep in our memories.
