"There's ma big pal? I've got a wee job for you!" A phrase I heard all the time from you Frances. Once I had done the work you wold beckon me into the kitchen to pay me in sweets or chocolate which you would stuff under my jacket so Jayne wouldn't see them.
Farewell Frances. You will be missed, but not by my waistline.
Love, Alan

Frances: Our hearts are broken at the loss of such a wonderful women. You were kind and generous to a fault and always with something nice to say. When you were here in New York, I always had someone to help me with the weeding in my garden in the summer and always had you to talk to and laugh with. The biggest chuckle I got was after you finished dinner, you always said, "That was lovely" I am sorry that you did not get to meet our grandchildren for they would have loved you as much as we do. Rest in Peace my friend. Till we meet again. Your brother-in-law Joe.

Here is a tribute to my beautiful Auntie Frances.

Fast forwarding...When I was 24 in 1978 I finally got where I finally belonged to.. My Scottish roots..my Auntie Frances actions spoke louder than words. My name is June Christina Olivares. I am my grandmother's Edith McNamee's second Grandaughter. I am a Hutchison (my grandmother's maiden name) and a Purdon ( my mother's maiden name.)

My mother Catherine was 50 when she passed away in 1978. Auntie Frances who is my mothers (Catherine's sister) travelled by train from Vancouver, Canada to bring us her sister's last dying wish.

"Always keep in contact with my children."

Over the last 40 years auntie Frances endured long journeys from Scotland to California over the Atlantic to fulfill her sister Catherine Hutchison- Purdon (Kay) dying wish.

She would arrive weary from her journeys 5 times mostly 6 weeks at a time between visiting Leonor, Miguel, Danny and myself over 40 years. Bringing trinkets from her beloved Scotland. Scottish dolls, kilts, Cadbury candies for us and our children and grandchildren.. A Scottish cashmere sweater for me. Which by the way I still have in perfect condition.

She shared her family history with us. My Grandmother Edith's family. The McNamee family. Names of all of her brothers and sisters and their children and her children. My beautiful cousins now that we have met. More cousins that we want to meet someday and their children.

She taught me her language...aye, nae bother, Ffs, I'm howling, big man (our Jeff) , my wee pal, your'e lovely, if a cup of tea wasn't hot enough it was "freezin". She did like her "wee tate" on occasion.

I am heartbroken. I will always carry this beautiful soul my Auntie Frances in my heart as long as I live.

I have never felt more wanted and important in my whole life if it wasn't for this beautiful woman.

My last words to my Auntie "I will always love you and thank you for always being so good to me".

Till we meet again my sweet, beautiful Auntie that was a mom to me. xx love forever your Neice Junee xxxxxxxx our Angel <3
