In loving memory of Margaret Nina Lloyd who sadly passed away on 3rd March 2016.
Nina was born in Syston in 1926 and went to Humphery Perkins school on Barrow upon Soar. She had a sister Ella who survives her aged 101 and a brother Jack who passed away a few years ago. Her father was a master builder who built the war memorial in Syston.
Nina initially went to work after leaving school at the Colliegate school in Leicester in the school office. She was a school secretary at several schools around Leicester. She later worked at York Trailer in Corby and Canada Dry in Kettering.
Her greatest passion was travel and had visited many countries around the world. Initially, as family holidays in Europe and in her later years she really enjoyed cruising.
She has lived in Oundle for the past 30 years after her retirement and was involved in local charity work principally with Oundle Care Committee where she was chairperson for 20 years. She enjoyed her bowling and was a past presedent of Oundle Bowls Club. She was also a life long member of the WI.
