I can honestly say I have never met anyone like Steve O before. Even through his illness, his spirit remained bright, positive and happy. Always a smile on his face and a cheery word to say is how I will remember Steve. He was a wonderful man and worked extremely hard. It was an honour and a pleasure to work with him and he is sorely missed. Jo xx

Steve was known to everybody at Morgan Sindall as Steve.O as there was more than 1 Steve on site, his role was gate man which also included traffic management, but he took a great deal of pride in keeping our site entrance area looking clean and professional (i'm sure there was a bit of ocd going on there as if anybody stood on the gravel areas he would be right behind them with his broom tidying up).
The site was located in the centre of Norwich City which meant we we surrounded by the Norwich Union (now Aviva) insurance buildings as a result many of the office workers walked past our site entrance on their way to and from work and as you can imagine Steve.O became a common site for these people and he came to represent the face of Morgan Sindall to the people of Norwich, the only problem was if you wanted to speak to Steve.O the early mornings were best avoided as Steve.O would constantly stop and say Good Morning to all the regular faces that passed by, whether you was trying to talk to him or not as he would never knowingly ignore one of them!
The hut may now be gone but anybody who knew him can not pass by the spot where it stood without being reminded of him. RIP Steve.O see you later!

We didn't work together that long Steve but you were a pleasure to both know and work with.
May you rest in peace and be pain free now.
