In loving memory of Paul Edward Crowson who sadly passed away on 12th March 2016.
Paul was born on 27th November 1950 in Glinton. The only son of Olive and Ted and was raised in Helpston with his sister Pamela. Father of Kelly and Ian and Granddad Paul to Emily.
At 15 years old without any formal qualifications, Paul started an apprenticeship at Perkins Engines with day release at Peterborough Technical College. After completing his ONC he went to Coventry Polytechnic University and completed a BSc degree in electrical engineering.
Following his degree, Paul returned to Perkins Engines and work there for 35 years as the Controls Engineering manager where he made many friends. Alongside his work at Perkins, he also ran his own Controls Engineering business. Paul liked his work and said 'if you enjoy your job, it’s not work'.
Paul enjoyed family holidays and cycling which he did on his red Dawes Dalesman, a bike he had from childhood. In 2013, he completed a 50 mile cycle ride for Leonard Cheshire around Sandringham estate raising money for the charity.
In November 2014, Paul was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease which he dealt with incredible mental strength right up until the end. His attitude to the disease was that there was nothing he could do about it so he got on with it and did as much as he could for as long as he could.
A real inspiration to all his friends and family and sadly missed by all x x x x x
