In loving memory of Anthony (Tony) Bates who sadly passed away on 8th March 2016 he was a very well known man who regularly went for a walk uptown to pay his papers and went for his usual pint of Guinness, he was often a regular at local sainsburys. tony never looked his age always looked well and young at heart, was a roofer in his younger days and then a engineer at Perkins. had 11 children and lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren. he was a wonderful step father and step grandad, tony never had a bad word to say about anyone and anyone ya speak to will say what a wonderful nice man he was. he had a good sense of humor and a good heart, sadly he was diagnosed with vascular dementia 18months ago which in first few months was slow but since December 2015 tony rapidly got worse, he still had his crazy humour and could have a good old chat. but his legs were getting bad due to all the roofing he had done in the past his knees was not great causing him to have many falls. Joan nursed tony all of his 18 months with dementia and never left his side she was amazing. sadly tony got pneumonia twice and couldn't fight it and sadly passed away. they say god only takes the best well tony was more than the best and heaven has gained a special angel. rest in peace and dementia free. we love you and miss you with all our hearts xxxxx
