In loving memory of Gerald Carberry who sadly passed away on 23rd February 2016.I thought long and hard about what to say here and it is all from the heart. Dad sadly died after a short illness with cancer and is now pain free and is now at peace. It is heartbreaking to watch a strong proud man suffer for the last 3 months of his life is something I would not wish on anybody and I hope one day a cure will be found for this awful illness.
Dad a true Coventry kid was born in Marriott road Coundon in 1941 and eventually moved to Allesley village with his family .He was the oldest of 3 children,( Neil and Linda). Dad was married to Sheila Carberry until he Divorced and he then met Tracie Bishop and they lived happily together for 34 years until he passed away. To put in tracies own words dad was who she loved was her best friend and most of all the man who saved her life. She will miss him dearly.
His working career spanned for a long time at Triumph Motorcycles however over the years after the factory closed dad worked at the Allesley hotel, the Royal court , Cummings turbines ,union carbide , ap racing and I believe he even worked at sunblest for a bit.
As a father he was always there for me and my family and I cannot say in words what a great loss it is for us all. On a cheerfull note in the minutes before he passed i was holding his hand and remembering the good times we had had and I was laughing about them. He looked up opened his eyes smiled and then sadly passed. If I could have one wish now it would be for you to say ,"that's smashin And ",one more time. Love you dad x Rest in peace dad until we meet again. xxxxxxx
