Alexander George Handley (5 Apr 1946 - 21 Feb 2016)

In loving memory of Alexander George Handley, known by most people as Alex, who sadly passed away on 21st February 2016 at the age of 69 in the Marie Curie Hospice at Stobhill following a brief illness.

Alex was born in Glasgow, the son of George and Agnes Handley. He leaves his wife Catherine, his son Alastair, daughter-in-law Elaine, grandchildren Fraser and Zoe, sister Sheena, as well as extended family members and friends.

Alex spent most of his working life in the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, working within the maintenance section and before his retirement specialising in the maintenance and operation of plant equipment for the rehabilitation pools in the hospital.

Alex enjoyed spending time with his family and was delighted to find that he was going to become a grandad. He spent a lot of time with both grandchildren, helping look after them when both were pre-nursery. Alex had a passion for music and liked to listen to live music in a number of pubs around Glasgow. Alex also enjoyed travelling, particularly spending time travelling around Italy.

A funeral service will be held in Anderson Maguire, 15 Hamilton Street, Glasgow, G42 0PL on Wednesday March 2nd at 1:15.
