Dawn Valerie Rogers (Passed away 8 Jan 2016)
In loving memory of Dawn Valerie Rogers who sadly passed away on 8th January 2016, my mum had a varied life, she had 2 children, myself and my sister Louise and 3 grandchildren who she adored, Joshua, Blake and Max, she also loved her son-in-law Paul dearly. Mum was born in Luton where we lived till I was 10 then we moved to Suffolk. Once I left home she lived in Caister for some years before moving here to Nuneaton to be near us. It was here she met Norman and so she used to spend half the week with me and the other half with Norman in Stafford, Norman and mum had a very special love it was found late in life and she adored him. During the days she was with me she got to do fun stuff with other children, she absolutely loved all my mindee's and them her, some of them called her 'nanny' she would help, bake, play, feed and the amount of times she sat whilst they were DR's covered in bandages. With her grandchildren she'd buy them sweets (sneak them upstairs) as if I didn't know pftt mum! I knew you did it! Mum took them out, stuck up for them, picked Joshua up from train/bus stop whenever he rang her, went to sports days, plays, assembly's, open days, reading days, anything they were in she was there and also for my older mindee's as well. I remember 1 year she'd gone to a 'see your child's work' afternoon at school and she was gone 2 hours, when she got back I said "mum what took you so long?" She said "Well I couldn't just see Max's work Donna I had to see Serenity's, Lauren's, Gabriella's and Rosie's, of course that's how much she loved the children, she was a lady who'd had a difficult life at times a happy life and was very proud of us and I'm very glad I got that extra year, as myself, my son Blake and my mum have all had cancer we are asking people to donate to cancer research UK instead of flowers.
