In loving memory of the late Ian Bagshaw (aged 57) who sadly passed away on 16th May 2014

Ian, today would have been our 33rd wedding anniversary ... I am so grateful for the love and laughter that we shared every single day of the time we shared; I knew when you asked me after just 3 weeks, to marry you, that you were the one for me and I was not wrong. I say again these words about you leaving us ...
You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love that you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
Ian - you are always in my thoughts, forever in my heart. Happy anniversary and sleep tight, my Angel xoxo

Dear Uncle Ian,
Somehow I have been blessed and privileged to have the most amazing extended family any girl could ask for, and you, Uncle Ian, are a huge contributor to this amazing family. I will never forget your cheeky, positive, vibrant, and caring attitude you exuded on any given day when we were together. I have many memories of you that will stay with me forever, from family camping where I saw my first speedo (lol), numerous occasions where you, Auntie Mary, Geoffrey and Ashlene made the lengthy trip to our home in Orillia, and many family gatherings at Nanny's in Ottawa. I will also never forget your amazing pancake breakfasts!! You stood over the stove on countless mornings, making dozens of pancakes until all the family members had woken up and eaten all they pancakes they could, and always with a smile. You were always the first one volunteering to clean dishes at the end of a big meal, and also up for any adventure (snow tubing, or sitting on the sidelines watching us ski/snowboard the slopes). Your selflessness was undeniable. You will be truly missed but never ever forgotten <3

Love from your niece,
Jean

Ps. You are also the reason I know what cricket is (a foreign sport to many Canadians!) and it will always remind me of you and the rest of Bagshaws.

Xoxoxoxo thinking About you guys (Mary, Geoff, and Ashlene). Sending all my love

Mary, Geoff & Ashlene

So, so sorry to hear of your loss. I was privileged to spend many a happy weekend afternoon with Ian many years ago now. He was an honorary member of the late 90's early 2000's "Carry on Cricketers". He was a gentleman, and a gentle man, but a fiercely skilled competitor, who I admired in so many ways.
Thoughts are with you this so sad and difficult time.

Steven

I was so shocked to hear about the loss of baggers, my memories of time spent with him playing cricket around the county are now even more treasured. A few tears were shed here in Queensland when Lisa and I heard the news of your loss. Ian was great to be around at anytime, cricket, work, social it didn't matter what and always with his trademark smile. Mary our thoughts are with you and the family. Maybe in heaven he will get to bowl downhill with the wind. Love Paul, Lisa, Isaac and Rosie x

We are lucky to have known Uncle Ian as well as we did. Frequent visits across the pond meant we spent many holidays with Mary, Ian, Geoff and Ashlene; filled with laughter, fun, and new experiences. Ian was kind, loving, generous, selfless, and always up for a laugh. We were honoured that you visited for our wedding (we had a very special week leading up to the wedding - and still appreciate how you both helped us prepare). And what an experience to have him showing us around England on our honeymoon. He will truly be missed. Sending our love and deepest sympathy to Mary, Geoff and Ashlene xo
