In loving memory of Patrick George Lowe who sadly passed away on 3rd January 2016

Pat lived all his life in Nottingham apart from the years he spent at Leicester university getting his law degree. Pat was a lifelong fan of Notts County Football club and Nottinghamshire cricket team. He spent many happy days at Trent Bridge and Meadow Lane, he was very loyal and always got his season tickets as soon as possible.

Pat loved watching all sports and in the last few years he joined Suzanne and Tacky Races which enabled him to get to enjoy many happy days at various race meetings. Pat was on the committee and arranged a couple of trips for us. Part of organising these trips was to create and run a general knowledge quiz for the journey. Pat particularly enjoyed this because he loved quizzes.

Pat had an extensive knowledge about sport, music and history which he put to good use during many pub quizzes, mostly at the Lion in Basford which had been his local for over 20 years.

Pat's other passion was holidays, not for sitting on a beach, where he would like to see new places, learn new things and try new food. Pat travelled to many European countries but his favourite was France, he loved Paris.

Unfortunately Pat died in Portugal during his last holiday but he has left all his friends with some fantastic memories of good times shared.

Other than my Grandad, good men have been hard to find growing up. That's why it was particularly sad to say goodbye to Pat today. He has been part of my life for a good eight or nine years and, as we told one another at my Mum's Birthday Party after one too many drinks, in that time grew "quite fond" of one another! Pat was a kind, witty, and genuine man, who was always interested in what I'd been up to and what I had to say. I'll always remember and look back fondly on the good times, and I feel proud to have been able to get to know Pat. RIP.

So sorry I couldn't be there today Pat ~ it was a pleasure to have known you and to have worked with you for so many years. You were one of the most generous people I have known, giving freely of your wealth of knowledge, wit and wisdom. Kenneth William's 'oooerr Matron' ~ forever imprinted in my memory. Goodbye my friend ~ say hello to Atkin, you can both share a laugh with the angels now x x x
