I am very sorry to hear the news about Kate. I used to work with Kate at Connexions and happily remember her sense of humour and her lovely girls.
Katharine Elizabeth Truelove (7 Feb 1964 - 7 Jan 2016)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Katharine Elizabeth Truelove who sadly passed away on 7th January 2016.
Kate was born on the 07/02/1964 in Cheshire, England, the eldest daughter of Vic and Audrey Barnett. Kate also has a younger sister, Emma.
During her early years as a child she lived in numerous places due to her father Vic, a professor of statistics, taking academic positions in a number of universities around the UK as well as in Australia. Kate had many fond memories of her childhood and would recount them often with humour at her transient lifestyle!!!
Later on in her teenage years she came to study in Nottingham and eventually when her studies were concluded, she made her home in the city.
In 1995 she met her eventual husband to be, Chris and in 1996 they purchased their first home together in the Arnold area of Nottingham. Kate worked full time for the Careers Service and absolutely loved her job. The little semi detached house was soon filled with the patter of tiny feet when in 1999, the first born and eldest daughter of Kate, Hannah Louise arrived. Kate fell into motherhood with an apparent ease and made the juggling of working full time and having a baby seem effortless to everyone who met her. Over time however, the house grew smaller and Hannah grew bigger!!!
In 2000 Kate and Chris were married.
2001 saw a move to another slightly bigger house still in the Arnold area, as Hannah grew and more space was needed. Kate immediately threw herself into renovating the house, caring for Hannah and still worked full time.
In 2005 Amy Elizabeth, the second daughter of Kate was born and again, the job of double motherhood and working full time seemed to be handled by her with no effort whatsoever. Life continued apace until in 2009 it was decided that a another move was needed due to the family growing at a rate of knots. Cue the third and final move to another house where Kate lived until her sad passing this year.
Kate as a mother was sunny and vibrant and could always make you laugh no matter how serious the situation. She was always supportive and motivational in equal measure. Non more so when it concerned wanting the best for both her girls and encouraging them to strive for better things. She showered them with so much love that if it was blanket, both Hannah and Amy will have enough warmth to last them well into their old ages. Her girls were her life and she theirs.
Kate as a wife was the best friend and partner anyone could have hoped for. Her loyalty and love were absolute. She again made you laugh and cry in equal measure but was always there to talk things through and offer sage like advice when it counted. I loved her with every part of my being and she consumed my every waking hour. As Kate's husband I had no doubt of her love for myself and the girls. Sometimes it was so real, it was almost a tangible thing. She was my beautiful girl and will always remain so.
Both myself and my girls feel lucky that Kate was in our lives and that she chose us to spend what little time she was given, with us. We miss her, now, tomorrow, and until the end of time itself. She was irreplaceable.
Kate's funeral will take place at 2pm on Monday 25th January 2016 at Bramcote Cremetorium, Nottingham.
