Iris Abbott (15 Apr 1934 - 5 Jan 2016)

We will remember her for her kindness and her generosity to us and to others for so many years. She gave of herself without expectation of anything in return. We shall treasure the example she set for us.

Iris was lovely. She had a caring and generous nature who always saw the best in people and she will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with her brother, Fred and her relatives in Canada.

Growing up was great having Iris as an extra Auntie. She was always loving and kind, and always prepared to give to others. I particularly remember Auntie Iris for sharing her staff cinema pass with Jon and I. She would always greet us with a loving smile, and buy us sweets for the film. Iris will be sadly missed, but leaves many of us with very fond memories.

Iris was a person who thought kindly about everyone else and was selfless. She saw good in everyone and was fun to be with. I’ll sadly miss my fish and chip dinners with her, and our coffees and cakes at the John Lewis café. Cherished memories. Much love from Shirley xxx
