The poems I read at the funeral:
We thought of you in Love today, but that is nothing new, We thought about you yesterday and days before that too, We think of you in silence, we often speak your name, Now all we have is memories and your picture in a frame, Your memory is our keepsake, with which we'll never part, God has you in his keeping, We have you in our hearts.

A Silent Tear, Just close your eyes and you will see, all the memories that you have of me, Just sit and relax and you will find, I'm really still there inside your mind, Don't cry for me, now I'm gone, For I am in the land of song, There is no pain, There is no fear, So dry away that silent tear, Don't think of me in the dark and cold, For here I am, no longer old, I'm in that place, that's filled with Love, Known to you all as "Up Above".

  • Thank you for asking me if you could read the first poem. You read both poems beautifully. Grandad and nana would both be proud xxx

To my wonderful dad, Ron, R.I.P. Now together with mum, Margaret,
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there- I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle Autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush, I am the swift-up-flinging Rush,
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there- I did not die.
