In loving memory of Jennifer Reffold-West who sadly passed away on 14th December 2015 aged 59 years, She was a beloved family member and cherished friend to many. Jennifer or Jenny (as she liked to known) was known by all for her love of life, sense of humour, eccentricity, generosity, being a Geordie, and endless acts of kindness. Born in Shotton Colliery in County Durham in 1956 to Coalminer Charlie Stewart and his wife Jean Stewart. She lived her life loving her crafts, her West Highland Terrier dog "Teddy", her cat "Bobo", cooking, shopping, Coronation Street, Crosswords and Puzzles and most of all her kids. She is our voice at the end of the phone, and our best friend, and she will forever stay at the heart of her family and good friends. Jenny was a truely hard working inspirational woman and endured a long secretarial career whilst raising a family. We miss you terribly but the love she gave us will keep us warm until we are all together again. Jenny is now with her husband Mark West who sadly passed last year. May their love live on. She was a very beloved mother who will remain in the hearts of her children Andrew and Victoria forever more and will be missed for an eternity.

  • Andrew its very important that you know she loved you up until her last breathe. She left a note. We were estranged at the time of her death. I tried to find you, I had no contact details and I got the police involved to find you. I have been looking for you for years. I can prove this. I have somethings for you that she would want you to have. Please get in touch. You are my brother. I hope your OK. Love Vic x

We are thinking about our Jennie , and about how warm hearted she was, and how she made us laugh. She was one of a kind, and we miss her. The one consolation is that she doesn't have to be without her Dad any more. Sending love to Victoria and all our Jens friends who are missing her. We hope your memories always make you smile. xxxx

Oh Jennie. Such a sad loss of a lovely lady. We worked together for years and years in the NHS. Our Moore House days were so full of fun. One day our junior doctor was seeing a Glaswegian family for the first time and was worried about being able to understand their accent. Jennie and I gave him an emergency Scottish lesson! I used to give her a lift to and from work. She would get in the car in the mornings complete with her cup of tea and two rollers in her hair. She would do her hair on the way and put her empty teacup in her immense shopping bag, on arrival, ready for the day. She was a worry, bless her. Those emergency visits to the hospital, feeling desperate that she would not survive. Ours was a caring relationship. Trying to reign her in and also wanting her to flourish and fly was a balancing act. She was her own special person, never to be, ever again. Her children were her world, Andrew and Victoria. She had so much love for them, such a good mum. She was an extremely talented seamstress, able to produce very beautiful work with her own two hands. There are too many funny, emotional, poignant, serious, hilarious, touching and moving moments to detail here. Suffice to say that I will miss her so much, just knowing she is not around. Goodnight dear Jennie, love you x

I have so many memories of my dear friend Jenny, I don't think I'll fit them all on but here goes, Jenny used to come into work with a cake she'd made that she called 'Motorway Cake' because it made a road right through yer!! When we had a weekend with her up in Durham, I had the privelege or misfortune (ha ha) of sharing the room with her, and at 2am in the morning Jenny decided to launch herself on me, there were a few choice words, and a lot of laughter. This weekend was from then on known as the D.O.G.S. weekend, Durham Old Girl's Society, named by Jen. Jenny always had us all in stitches with her spontaneous humour, no where was dull when you were with her. This world will definitely be a sadder place without her, she lit up our lives, will miss you so much Jen. Yer was a reet Bobby Dazler! See ye on t'other side Pet, yer was a canny lass. xxxxxxx
