In loving memory of Arthur George Buck who sadly passed away on 1st January 2016

Arthur George Buck born on 27 October 1932 I London and was the second youngest of 10 children. He grew up and met his wife Joan who lived opposite him in Fox Hill. As stories go he was told by his mum to invite Joan from across the road to his birthday party. He was not very enthusiastic about that and said "I don't want that snobby so and so coming to my party" I will let you decide what the so and so meant. Well his mum was a Buck and as a Buck mum you usually do as you are told and so he invited her and the rest is history! They were blessed with 4 children Jacqueline, Angela, Phillip and the baby of the family Catherine. He was proud of all their achievements but none so than giving him 9 grandchildren and consequently 5 great grandchildren.
Sadly in 1993 Joan died but Arthur was fortunate enough to find love again with Mary, who was his loving partner, friend, companion and till the end his 'brick'. Arthur was also blessed to have gained the love of Mary's 3 children Tony, Michael and Claire all of which had a very close bond with him.
Now most of you here will know that Arthur had a passion for football. He loved a lot of sport having been a keen sportsman in his younger years but his biggest passion was his footy and The Palace! That's why if unsure what to buy him for a gift anything to do with Chrystal Palace would bring a smile to his face.
Arthur also enjoyed a good holiday but his highlight was probably his trip with Mary in 2010 to South Africa where they visited his eldest daughter Jacqueline.
Arthur till the end displayed what some would term a 'wicked sense of humour'. In hospital recently he was being visited by his daughter Catherine and his grandson Jack who was thirsty and has polished off a can of pop and placed it on Arthur's bed stand. Now Arthur was 'nil by mouth' so when a nurse entered his room shortly after Arthur said "oh that was such a lovely refreshing drink"! Catherine was very amused by the nurses look of horror. He did put the nurse out of her misery but not before having his 'bit of fun'
Lastly as many close to Him will know his catchphrases that we will remember the most are 'you plonka' and 'you gonna go through that wall in a minute' usually directed at his grandsons!

Arthur Buck, partner, Dad and Grandad we love you
