I was Roy's Secretary at Roy Snelson Property Bureau for several years in the late 60's/early 70's.
He was a wonderful man and I learned so much from him. The trust he put in me to run his office gave me the confidence that helped me in my later career.
I remember Pam and Jill very well. Jill used to buy me chocolates when she worked with me on the occasional Saturday as I had a very sweet tooth!
R.I.P. Roy. You were a very special gentleman.
From Linda Buttery (nee Smith).

Born "Russell Roy Snelson" in Derby in 1924, Roy worked at Rolls Royce and then in many ventures of his own, culminating in Roy Snelson Property Bureau Limited. He loved sport, having played football for Derby boys, also cricket, tennis and badminton, then latterly golf, which he said was a great leveller! He had 2 sisters, Beryl and Peggy, whom he teased relentlessly. He met Joan in 1946, just after Derby County won the FA Cup. They got married in 1948, and spent 55 happy years together, until we lost Joan in 2003. He loved his family and was a great Dad to Pam & Jill. We enjoyed many happy holidays together or even just going out together for a drink or a steak, or fun times in the garden. Dearly loved by sons in law, Chris & Paul, and grandchildren Tom, Amy, Jack, Josh & Katie.
