Jayne Lesley Simons (14 Feb 1960 - 3 Apr 2025)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Jayne Lesley Simons who sadly passed away on 3rd April 2025 at 4:30am.
My mum Jayne Simons was a loving and caring woman who would do anything for anyone. She was kind natured and loved the simple things in life. She enjoyed knitting, reading, listening to smooth radio and watching 80’s TV including her favourite program murder she wrote. Her favourite drink was Diet Coke and would always have a bottle close by. Her favourite treat was ice cream and she was able to enjoy her last little tub a few days before she passed.
My mum was brought up with her sister Merril and brother John by both her parents Jack and Audrey. Sadly both parents passed with her dad passing April 2016 and her mum March 2024.
She met my dad Tony when she was young and their relationship had its ups and downs but following their separation they became good friends and were close at the time of her passing.
My mum worked in a variety of jobs, but the one she spoke about the most was her job as a printer and finisher at Thomas Formans.
I was very close to my mum, as for most of our life’s it was me and her against the world. She welcomed my husband Samuel into the family when we met and has treated him like a son for the past 20 years.
She has 3 grandchildren Courtney who is the eldest who she managed to see go off to Birmingham university, Amelia and Elijah and was close to all three of them. She loved spending time with the family and said the grandchildren kept her busy. She looked after all of them as babies to allow me to follow my dreams to become a mental health nurse, which I believe made her proud, as I did put her through some difficult times when i was a child.
She had a few close friends especially Joanne who would support her with attending the local church for coffee mornings and was there with my mum near the end.
The last 4 months of my mum’s life has been difficult and she fought so hard to keep going, showing us just how strong she was. However, she became tired towards the end and her body could no longer fight. I am so proud to call her my mum and will keep her memory alive for as long as I walk this earth.
I now hope she is free of pain, but I am going to miss her so much, especially the daily calls asking me what I am doing and when I would be visiting.
Flowers may be sent to C Terry Funeral Services, 244 Bulwell High Road, Bulwell, Nottingham, NG6 8NU.
