In loving memory of Brenda Goodwin who sadly passed away on 24th March 2025.
Funeral will take place on 10th April at 2pm at Woodlands Cemetery,Scarborough.
Brenda had an amazing life and was well travelled.
She lived in Cyprus for many years with her husband Jack and in later years was a frequent visiter to Polland. She made friends where ever she went, many of whom I am sure ,have fond memories of the times they shared. She spent the last 2 years of her life in Scarborough ,North Yorkshire.
Please can any donations be given to any of the following; RSPCA, Salvation Army, Age UK, or Westborough Church.

My condolences to Brenda's family. I knew Brenda for a few years when she lived in Warsaw, Poland and attended the Anglican church there. I remember how she was always writing, including a regular diary and historical notes, especially about the early church fathers. I often followed her stories of foreign travels to various housesitting and cat-sitting duties in many European countries.

In memory of Brenda ,we enjoyed many a shopping trip in and around Scarborough, often sitting awhile to watch all the dogs walking by.She also used to love seeing our old boy Ollie and alway made a big fuss of him.
I am glad you managed to have your last wish granted,to die at home
It was made possible by the excellent care provided by the nurses from the Urgent Care Team for which we are thankful.

Kevin Makepeace donated £40 in memory of Brenda

In memory of Brenda Goodwin, a lovely lady who was definitely unique and very independent until the end. Adding colour to our lives for 2 years. Last year on Brenda's 90th birthday Carys & I spent the day in Filey with her. This year for her birthday we were planning another trip somewhere but unfortunately her health was failing and Brenda passed away 3 days after her 91st birthday.

Fond memories of Brenda, a unique lady who came to stay with us for 2 weeks that turned into 2 years. Unfortunately Brenda never managed to continue her global adventures and passed away peacefully with us in Scarborough UK.

With loving memories of Brenda - we played together as toddlers in Hounslow, where we lived next door to each other.

Brenda loved cats and RSPCA was one of her favourite charities.

Brenda was a lovely person, fiercely independent and a lover of books and exploring. I would help her order many books for her Kindle, which in her later years she found easier to read than books in print. For the last 2 years of her life, her physical frailties prevented her from travelling all around the world as she had done for many years, but she was blessed to find a loving place to stay on Scarborough High Street, where Carys and Kevin took great care of her. She told me how much she enjoyed and looked forward to the sermons of Rev. Graham Morgan at the nearby Queen Street Methodist Church. We miss her in Warsaw, but know that she is looking down on us from heaven.
