Will miss you Big bro. It's difficult to put into words what you did for me and meant to me. I know if I say you changed my life, you would just say "no wuckas". Always understated and playing down your impact, but it was huge and positive for so many people. To quote a Johnny Cash "There's no way around grief and loss: you can dodge all you want, but sooner or later you just have to go into it, through it, and, hopefully, come out the other side. The world you find there will never be the same as the world you left."

I was shocked and saddened to hear this news. Jim was the head of my team in my early years in Civil Service. I have fond memories of this time as Jim created such a great spirit and camaraderie which ensured we were very successful as a team and also great friends outside work. Jim’s work hard, play hard ethos made his team a great place to work. To me Jim was so much more than my boss, he was a great friend who will be very sadly missed.

Gill and I had some great times with Jim and Jayne visiting cities around Europe. This photo was taken in Paris in 2003 when Jim spotted this cafe celebrating his beloved football club.

A legend ! Jim was an amazing character, a fighter and publishers everywhere will be mourning his passing. I lost count of how many book reviews Jim posted on FB along with Larson cartoons, political commentary and his love of Arsenal.
As Jim himself would say "may he rest in eternal grace".

I was deeply saddened to hear about Jim's passing. He was a great colleague, a great friend, and most importantly, a wonderful human being. He always looked out for me whenever I was at a low ebb, and helped enormously in pulling me through it. That's exactly the type of man Jim was. One of the best. Rest in peace, my friend.

Phil x
