In loving memory of Mark Brooker who sadly passed away on 14th March 2025, loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Mark was one of life’s most precious treasures.
He loved to give to others, all he ever wanted to do was make people smile and happy.
He always tried to help people less fortunate than himself.
Mark had a way about him that everyone loved.
He had the biggest smile that matched his heart, full of love and kindness.
Mark had the biggest passion for music especially musical theatre, music was Marks life and a way he would channel his emotions, he also had the most beautiful of voices.
Marks final days were spent with his close family and friends by his side dreaming of days in the sun in Thailand, his most favourite place in the world.
Mark will be missed deeply by all whose lives he touched.
Sleep tight angel 🕊️

Dear Mark
I can’t believe that I am writing this and that you are gone to be honest I’m not sure it will ever sink in. You have been by my side for 24 years and I just don’t know what I am going to do without you. I love the fact you loved me for me, you loved my James and you loved my children just like we were your family and to me we were. You have been there for every milestone of my life we have lived together ,holidayed together , had a business together, shared laughs, tears, hugs and kisses and I even went into labour with you.. You are the most generous man I know with your love, a love I always felt not matter what, even when I was wrong, which I will admit I was sometimes. I will never forget the endless dinners, laughs and songs the times you would come to us for dinner and say ‘shall we get a take away or are you going to roast a lamb on the lawn’. Mark your soul was just too good for this world and this world didn’t deserve you but I’m so glad that you were in it and in my life. I hope your singing at the top of your voice up there showing them how it’s done or ‘blowing them out of the water’ as you would say. My heart will always be a little broken without you , I love you my friend always and forever
Your LouLou

Mark, it’s so hard to believe that you are gone. You were such an amazing soul and you brought so much love, kindness, generosity and laughter into so many peoples lives. You had an amazing way of making anyone in The Anchor feel like they were in their own homes. You brought everyone together with love, music and amazing food and built such a great community- where everyone loved to go. I always felt so safe and looked after whenever I was with you. You brought so much kindness into this world Mark, I’ve seen you do SO much for SO many people. You had such a strong family connection and that is something we really connected over.

Some of my best ever days were spent on countless summer Sundays at the pub, and it was the only place worth having a hangover every single Monday for. My family all adored you Mark- thank you for the love and kindness you showed us all.

My heart is with your dear family and every single one of your very many loved ones right now. A loss of someone so special is hard to process and has been deeply felt by so many.

Although it’s so tragic you are no longer here, the world is a brighter place for having had you in it. Mark, you were loved by so many, I hope you knew the impact you had on everyone you met. Sleep peacefully my beautiful friend, I will love you always. X ❤️

Mark, my dear friend, my brother, my guide—
The first to open a door when I stood, young and uncertain,
On the edge of a new life.

I remember that day at Rare as if it were yesterday—
A shy 22-year-old, searching for his place in a vast city.
And there you were, standing with a heart too big for this world,
Seeing in me something I hadn't yet seen in myself.
You took me in without hesitation,
And from that moment on, we walked this road together.

You were more than a boss, more than a mentor—
You were family. A steady hand, a kind word,
A rare soul who shaped the man I’ve become.
You left an imprint time will never erase.

Hearing of your passing shattered me.
But in my heart, I know you are not truly gone.
I picture you now, reunited with your father,
Smiling, free, at peace.
Thank you, Mark, for everything.
For the wisdom, for the friendship,
For the love that never asked for anything in return.

You will be missed, my dear friend,
But never forgotten.

With love, Dragoș

Mark from the very first time we came down to the Anchor, you made us feel so welcome and it felt like we had known you forever.
You had a smile and laugh, that would light up a room.
Mark, you were such an integral part of the close friendships that we have had for the past 25 years.
I will cherish the many happy memories we have made together and always will, from Sundays and bank holidays down at the Anchor, celebrations and many more. There would always be music and singing involved and I loved to hear you sing, you sang with your heart and soul ♥️

We love you Mark so very much and you will be truly missed 😔💔

Now sleep tight my friend. This is not goodbye. This is until we meet again 🙏🏼♥️😇

Our love always The Turner 🥰
