We were so saddened to receive the phone call informing us of the Dean's passing.
It is always sad to lose the last close relative of one side of the family, and while we were never too close at the end of the day family are family and we always made the effort to go and see Dean whenever we could.
He will always have my utmost respect and thanks as being the only person to help me sort out my Mum's house after she had died and that is the greatest memory that I will have.
Girls we are so sorry for the loss
Alistair

Reunited at last and no doubt on their second bottle of red, catching up on life. Sleeptight Momma & Poppa - thank you for being the best grandparents a girl could wish for. Love you always, your Poppet 🤍 xxx

I remember Dean from my Venture Scout Days. I believe he was instrumental in setting up new Venture Scout Units in the late 1960's. By the time I became a Venture in 1972 there were at least three growing Units (might even have been 4) in SW Notts. Gemini, Ireton & Laroche (Alphabetical - no favourite here!). In 1973 Dean believed Ireton were stretching themselves aiming for 9 members to travel to Morocco overland - but we proved him wrong - which was quite rare. His work at the Bramcote Campsite was also formidable, and he ran a tight ship, looking after it like it was his own. He no doubt did more than we ever realised at the time. That was the great Scout he was, supported always by his dear Gill. Happy times to remember now.
