In loving memory of Terrance Kirk who sadly passed away on 5th March 2025, beloved husband of Bella, who passed away last December and father of Simon, Jason and Damon. Our dad was the life and soul of the party, who always had a twinkle in his eye and a witty comment or joke to make people smile.
Dad loved rugby, as a player and then as a spectator. He was a founding member of Cranbrook Rugby Club, then a Vice-President who attended every event that he could. He loved going to Internationals and watching his sons play. Sadly not as internationals!
Born in Gillingham in 1937, dad lost both his parents to enemy action in WW2. He was raised by his mother's family in Deal. He kept his love of the sea throughout his life, wether it was swimming or shrimping or crabbing, he even owned his own dinghy! He also loved the sun and would find any excuse to sunbathe. He also loved animals - dogs, cats, the squirrels he used to feed every lunchtime when he was a bank clerk in London, although he spent much of his working life cooped up in an office, he was an outdoors man at heart.
His school (Lord Wandsworth's College - where he was proud to tell people Jonny Wilkinson was educated), his officers on National Service (in the RAF) and his employers all spoke of him as being honest and trustworthy. Which he was.
His family were really important - he loved his sons and taught us respect, a sense of duty, especially to our families and to stand on our own two feet. He loved his nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren - they were always welcome to pop round for a drink and a catch up. He mixed easily in company and was often the ringleader if any mischief was afoot!
He passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him. We will miss him and mum, but at least they are together now.

Terry was a true gentleman. My memory of him was that he always used to 'doff' his hat when he saw me!! No-one does that any more but Terry did. A lovely man. He will be missed by you all. RíP
