In loving memory of Betty Mary Lakin who sadly passed away on 21st February 2025. Surrounded by her family.

A Mother, a Wife, a Nan, a Great Nan and a friend too…

A lady with a heart of pure gold, infectious laugh and an extraordinary sense of humour. (Not forgetting always there to speak her mind too!)

You will be deeply missed, treasured and forever remembered.

Let us all use this page to share our happy memories of the good times and special photos.

You’ll remain in our hearts forever ❤️

“If you’re wondering
Where to find me
I’ll tell you
Where I’ll be,

I’m in that
In-between bit,
That space where
Sky meets sea. 🌊

In the whispers
Of the trees
And the edges
Of your dreams, ☁️

Close enough to
Almost touch but
Slightly out of reach

I’m in the moon 🌙
And in the stars
But never really far,

And always, always
I’m there, inside
Your heart”
❤️💔❤️

It is with great sadness to hear that Mrs Lakin has passed away. We knew Mrs Lakin when as kids we lived across the road from her in Parkfield Crescent, Sue, Linda and John Ball, with our parents Audrey and Jess. Mrs Lakin was a lovely lady, who always had a smile and had time to chat to you. She will be so very sadly missed. RIP Mrs Lakin xxx

A lovely lady who will be remembered for her kindness and her sense of humour amongst other things. She is part of me and my siblings, Sue and John’s childhood, growing up as we did over the road at 65 Parkfield Crescent with Bet, Lionel and the family as neighbours of us children and our parents Audrey and Jess Ball.

Dearest auntie Betty what can I say I’m so grateful the day you took us in & looked after us from 5 years old & sister 7 years old I often think where we would of ended up if it hadn’t been for you & your kindness & heart of gold
You nurtured us through life till we was able to make our own way in life you loved a houseful of children watching them all grow up with their own family.
Your one special Auntie ♥️ that was more than an Aunt but mother to us has well.
Special people in our lives never leave us, even after they have gone and keep memories in our hearts ♥️
Rest in peace Louise & Elaine ♥️
