In loving memory of Rodney (Rod) Foord who sadly passed away on 13th February 2025.

Rod was a valued member of the Faversham Community and gave a lifetime service by supporting individuals and volunteering with many local charities and good causes in the town.

He played a primary role in many ways within the community but equally was very humble about his work. He will be will thoroughly missed by his colleagues and many friends.

Rod's funeral service takes place at 11am on Friday 28th March at St Catherine's Church, Preston Lane, Faversham, ME13 8LG

We have fond memories of Rodney. We moved away from Faversham 20 years ago and haven't been back for some years. Pete remembers competitions between the boys club and the scouts, where they first met. Pete helped Rodney move a piano/ organ into his house in Cyprus road. There were lots of laughs and struggles as it had to go through a first floor window! There was always a drop of whiskey to help. We both played badminton with him at Solomon's Hall. A gentle man with a passion for music and whiskey. He will be much missed and we are sorry not to be able to be there to say a final goodbye. We will be thinking of him. Rest in peace old friend.

I shall never forget running base camp with Rod for the paddlers on the 100mile canoe test. It could be hard going but was always lightened by Rodney’s good humour and willingness to help.
Rest in peace good friend

As for most people, it is still hard to believe he’s gone. But I have so many fond and fun memories and photos to remind me of Rod, that I know for sure he will never be far from my mind.
We laughed, we ate, we drank and on a couple of occasions we travelled too, including a trip to Ireland last year to celebrate Liz’s 70th.
I know he’ll be watching over us. With love, Trish

I shall miss Rod’s company very much. Spent some wonderful times, had some stimulating conversation, wore some silly outfits and had a good old laugh. Memorably for Club visits, Xmas and New Year’s Eve and Burns Night. Here’s to you!

It is with the greatest of regrets that I cannot be present to say goodbye to my oldest and dearest friend, Rod. I first knew Rod in 1977 when I started working for him at Economic Insurance in Sittingbourne. The working relationship petered out but the friendship stood firm always. I was so lucky to be able to celebrate my 70th birthday with him in Ireland last September - those memories are now doubly treasured. I only wish that my late husband, Andy, who was taken from me in 2021 had got to see Rod again - wonderful memories of many a Wine & Wisdom night or whisky tasting evenings. Rod was always there for me during some rough patches in my life and is part of some of the best memories of my life - he will be sorely missed. Love always Rod xxxx

Although I only knew Rodney for a couple of years, he brought so much joy to my Monday mornings at the Food Bank - lots of laughter and heated political discussions. He was humble, astute, caring, and feisty!
