In loving memory of John Martin Windley who sadly passed away suddenly on 23rd February 2025, aged 86 years.

Much-missed husband of Beryl and father to Laura, eldest brother of Paul and the late Richard Windley, and uncle to Caroline and Lizzie.

Funeral service to be held at Kemnal Park Crematorium on Wednesday 2nd April at 12.30 pm, and afterwards at The Beaverwood, Chislehurst until 4.30 pm.

Both Kemnal and Beaverwood are very close to where John and his brothers grew up and spent most of their childhoods in Sydney Road, Sidcup, where their mother, Iris, lived until her passing in 1996. The boys' father, Will, passed in 1951. John always retained an extremely strong connection to the area, so we feel it is most appropriate that we will be laying him to rest here.

We'd like to remember John most for his kind and generous nature, his artistic talent, his intelligence and knowledge, and his love in particular of history, nature and the English countryside.

Family flowers only, please. Donations if desired to the Kent Air Ambulance Service (see donation link above).

John was such a lovely person who always seemed to be smiling! I have many treasured childhood memories of the Windleys and the Millers get-togethers, and I'm glad that we have managed to keep in touch over the years.

Dear John Windley, he was always there with a glass and a laugh. A very kind and thoughtful man always ready to help his fellow man & woman. A very caring and considerate man. He was an excellent artist spending much time on his ‘Work of National Importance’ when he beavered away in his upstairs study/den diligent in his devotion to his ‘Work of National Importance’ so hush hush none of us were ever ‘privy’ to it. 🤣🤣🙏. He will indeed be greatly missed. It was certainly a privilege and a joy to have known him for so long.
