Through my mum (Claire Banks) myself, wife Nahida and daughter Jadine sadly only got to know Bryan over the last few years. But although beset by slowly failing health in all that time, he was always so cheerful, friendly and interesting n equsl measure. He also always retained that mischievious twinkle in his eye - and we loved him to bits for it. Brilliant tales from history too : of his dad, national service, engineering, British Cotton & Wool Dyers and a lifetime teetotalism and smoking! Remember especially vividly his story of a salvaged Jowett Javelin engine crashing out the back of his van on a steep hill leaving Lothersdale one night, plus a curious tale of his own Wool thread dyeing invention from the 1960s (Fascinated, I actually found the actual U.S Patent of that much later and is still hosted on Google!). He was a really funny, charming, clever & interesting man and just wish we had known him for longer than we were able. He will be sadly missed by all our family. Ian Banks
