In loving memory of Margaret Davis who sadly passed away on 10th February 2025

We celebrate the life of Margaret Davis (Nee Houseman), a beloved mother, grandmother, partner, and friend. Margaret was born in Selston, a small but significant place where her journey began—one that would leave an indelible mark on all who knew her. She attended Matthew Holland School and began her working life as a machinist at Wood Bastow.

In her younger years, Margaret met Neil, and together they built a family, having 4 children together . Susan ,Steven, Karen and Heather all whom she loved dearly. Later, after her marriage ended, she found happiness once again in 2004 when she met Bryan, with whom she shared many happy years in South Normanton. She also gained the love of Bryan’s children, Emma and Daniel, who became a cherished part of her life.

In 2007, Margaret was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a challenge that would impact her daily life. But Margaret was a fighter, always determined to maintain her independence and continue living life to the fullest. Her resilience was inspiring, and despite the struggles, she found joy in the things she loved—her cats, watching her favourite soaps, reading magazines, completing jigsaws, sewing, and indulging in the excitement of the 2p machines on trips to the East Coast.

Margaret’s heart was always full of love, especially when it came to her family. She cherished her visits to Germany to see her daughter Susan, son-in-law Colin, and their daughters, Jordan, Keeley-Jai, and Libby. She was also incredibly proud to become a grandmother again when Natasha was born to Steven and Emma. Later, her grandson, George, was born to Heather and Stuart, shortly followed by the arrival of Logan from Jordan and Ben Margaret’s love for her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mammar,” knew no bounds.

Though she faced many challenges, Margaret always remained strong, loving, and deeply committed to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In our hearts, Margaret will always stay—loved and remembered every day.
