In loving memory of Neville Thompson who sadly passed away on 3rd February 2025

Lucy Heath wrote

My special grandad, I think about you everyday. You were the light of my life and the one I could always turn to. I never thought the day would come so soon but I will always be proud to call you my grandad. I miss you masses, and my heart breaks to know I’ll never get one of your amazing hugs again or to get you to warm up my hands when they’re cold. I will treasure you forever and I hope I can make you proud. Life feels wrong without you in it.
My favourite grandad, forever and always - I will always love you to the moon and back 1 million times.

Love Lucy xx

It was an honour to be part of Nev's life. Hearing from his family and friends it was clear to see we all felt the same way. What a wonderful man!

I have many dear memories of Nevy over the years. He'd always greet me with bear hugs and kindness, a genuine interest in how I was. He was fun, he listened, he cared. I loved spending time with him as I grew up and then got to continue that family friendship as I introduced him to my own (Ciaran and Elsa) who loved him too. We shared so many good times together. I think of his snappy dress sense, giggles and superb lemon drizzle cake. Plus, he'll always be Mr Crisp Sandwich to my daughter! We'll miss you Nevy xxx

The joy, the laughter, the musical education. The driving lessons, the unfailing patience and humour. The innumerable hours of help and support in so many ways, over many years. The kindness, the listening and the caring, day after day.

Textbook step-parenting, Nevy - you’ve set the bar pretty high for me.

I wish we could have had some more time together. Miss you and love you so much.

I’ll end with one of our favourite Ferris quotes - I think you might have been living with this in mind in your last years:
‘Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.’

Such a pity that we didn’t have more time to get to know Neville better living at The Cedars.
