Helen Mary Burwell (19 Jun 1934 - 22 Dec 2015)

BURWELL
Helen Mary (née Petty) died peacefully at home on 22nd December 2015 aged 81 surrounded by her family after a short illness bravely borne. Devoted wife of Geoffrey, much loved mother of Matthew and Jane and sadly missed grandmother. Helen was a physiotherapist for 30 years, including working in Warwick, Leeds, London, Nottingham and the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA. She had hobbies and interests in; knitting and sewing, reading historical novels, gardens and flowers, bird watching and travel. She taught First Aid to Brownies for many years. In retirement she was involved in several voluntary activities including; Appropriate Adult with the Police, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, the Friary Drop-in Centre and Neighbourhood Watch. Helen had a lifelong love of reading and enjoyment in being a member of the book restoration team at Bromley House Library, Nottingham.
