In loving memory of John Panton who sadly passed away on 3rd February 2025

Remembering John Panton

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Panton on Monday, 3rd February, at 8pm, surrounded by his devoted family.

A true Tamworth legend and a staple of our town centre for over 40 years, John was best known for John’s Bargains on George Street, which later became Roaster’s Restaurant, it remained proudly owned by John and his wife, Angie.

A sharp businessman with an even sharper tongue, John’s colorful language—especially his favorite F-word—was part of his charm. But beneath it all he was a loyal friend and a man who lived for his family.

John leaves behind his beloved wife, Angie, daughters Samantha and Traci, and grandchildren Nathan, Jordan, Bethany, Zara and Oscar. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In his memory, donations can be made to the Sue Ryder Appeal for new drivers, helping those in need.

Rest in peace, John—you were one of a kind.
