Very sorry to have missed Alan's funeral due to being out of the country.

Alan, and his Dad Eric, were well respected employees at Steele & Bray, skilled tradesmen and a good temperament, so I was sorry that Alan did not enjoy the best of health in his retirement, and ultimately went too soon.

I knew Alan for over 40 years, played cricket with and against him, and always enjoyed his company.

My condolences to all of his family, who I am sure will miss him.

Alan was the first of Steele & Bray's tradesmen I met when I started with the company and I hope we always remained friends. A good man has left us. I'm sorry I can't be there Al.

So sad Alan . You were a lovely person. Really wish you could have enjoyed your retirement after working so hard . Catherine ( niece) described a lovely afternoon she spent with you and Sheila looking at old photos. She had a soft spot for you and is very sad.

I was very sad to hear of Alans passing. Having worked with him for many years I can honestly say it was a pleasure to have known him (approx 40 years in total) We had our disagreements of course we did and Alan would always speak his mind, but on the whole discussions about sport especially were friendly and informative. You could easily tell he was Eric's son. When Alan left Steele And Bray it was the end of an era. Rest in peace Alan.
