It was always lovely to spend a few hours chatting, and with a cup of tea, with Pat and Mike. Dear friends and neighbours, always brave and optimistic despite so many setbacks. They loved to share news of Stephen and Michele’s lives, of whom they were so justifiably proud. We shall miss them both.

I've known Michael and Pat for almost 30 years! We met on a fun adventure to China and have had many happy adventures since then! They were the dearest of dear friends and I will miss them so much.
Mike was an amazing human being, so full of life and compassion for others and always willing to help. He leaves this earth with a life well lived. I will miss him...

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on the tombstone.
From the beginning...to the end, he noted that first came the date of birth.
And spoke the following date with tears.
But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time that they spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth, for it matters not how much we own.
The cars...the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love.

Memories of great holidays, exciting places, fun and laughter, what a time we had on a speed boat in Canada laughing and screaming across across a vast lake just one of the many highlights with Michael and Pat.

For someone I looked up to in awe as a youngster, when Mike was a trendy teenager. He was inspiring, clever generous and kind and could talk for England over any subject and as the age difference decreased with time we shared many happy times with Pat, joint family and wider Verlander cousins. There will only be one Mike Hart.
