In loving memory of Wendy Frances Rose, beloved Mother to Fleur and Dominic, Grandmother to Alannah and friend to many.

Wendy was a multi-talented woman - musician, artist, historian, adventurer, dancer and philosopher. She was blessed, and blessed others throughout her life with her love, empathy, kindness, generosity, intelligence and uniquely mischievous sense of humour.

She was a strong person who possessed courage, dignity, determination - and a streak of rebelliousness which she showed all the way to the end, succumbing after a long battle to a lung condition that could never get the better of her spirit. She passed away on the 25th January 2025, surrounded by love.

The service for Wendy will be held on Friday 7th March, 1pm at Bowers Gifford Crematorium, in the River View Chapel (nearest station Pitsea). Bright and cheerful attire is encouraged. Her burial will follow at 2pm to be attended by her immediate family.

A wake has been organised in the Lavender Room at The Gun Pub, 5 minutes walk away.

We invite all those who knew and were friends with Wendy to attend her funeral service and wake - to pay respects, share stories and celebrate a truly remarkable lady. We would love to see faces both familiar and new, and hear all about your memories of her. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you consider a donation to St Margaret’s Church in Bowers Gifford which was sadly vandalised last year and is undergoing restoration. We believe this cause would have been dear to Wendy’s heart. Please help towards the restoration of this historic and beautiful church in her name and memory by copying and pasting this link:

To our Mum, Nan and Friend - our hearts will hold onto every single cherished memory. We love you and will miss you deeply for the rest of our lives.

Sad time for all Wendy's family and friends. Had only caught up with cousin Wendy in last few years and shared a few photos and stories of when we were young.
Love from Tina, my mum (auntie Edna) and Ken x

The Loss Of A Friend

The loss of a friend be it local or afar can leave a mark in your heart just like a scar.
The friend that has passed has left you with memories of joy and perhaps tears, having been good friends for innumerable years.
Their loved ones will grieve and look for the friends, who hold dear the memories of their departed kin. You maybe the one who helps them to smile by reminding them of the joy and the times that you shared with their beloved, and ease the pain by still being a friend.
The times that you shared as friends and with others, were times that will remain warm in your memory, and hopefully bring smiles to you and to those who you tell of the joy and the antics, shared with the friend that all formed a part of the bond, that still holds them warm in your heart.
Some days will be dark and your memories will glow and the smiles that they gave you will help you to know, that though they have left you, you are still the friend that they know and they trusted with things no others can know.
So smile through the tears and remember the warmth of the sharing of friendship with someone you know, who will be there to greet you when it’s your time to go.

Sorry to hear of the passing of my wonderful friend Wendy.
Wendy introduced me to the readings of Eckhart Tolle and the Power of Now for which I will always be grateful.
The Eckhart Tolle group met at Fresh Horizons for
Many years and Wendy was often our inspiration.
Wendy was a true friend alway willing to help with a smile on her face.
Wendy we will miss you dearly.

My apologies I will not be able to attend
The funeral as I will be abroad.
