Craig Simpson Dalby

There are simply not enough words to describe how wonderful, loving, caring and fun Craig was.

His sudden passing on 25th January has come as a huge shock and he will be missed by so many.

A Corbridge, Northumberland born boy, who moved to Wiltshire at 19 to join the police force, soon fell in love and created a beautiful life and family here in Wiltshire.

He proudly served 30+ years with Wiltshire Police as part of the firearms training team.

Here he inspired many and was truly loved and respected for his professionalism, encouragement and infectious humour.

He had such a passion for sport. He started playing Rugby for Newcastle Gosforth, then Bath, Oldfield and Chippenham which led him to coach at Chippenham and England Police Rugby.

He loved his weekly bike rides from home with his family and friends as part of the Bromham Velo and could start a conversation with absolutely anyone about sport.

The unwavering love he had for his family and friends was seen and felt by many. We will miss him greatly. He will always be with us.

A service to celebrate his wonderful life will be held at West Wiltshire Crematorium on Thursday 20th February at 2:15pm. Craig is a happy soul, please don't feel you need to wear black.

If you would like to pay your respects along the way, Craig will be driven from his home at 1:30pm, through the village of Bromham, to the crematorium.

Any donations kindly given will be donated to:
- The Bromham Wednesday Club, to help with the landscaping of the new Bromham Community Hub.

So sorry to hear of Craig’s passing. I first worked with Craig, at the Borough, in the late 80’s and he was one of those characters that everyone loved being around as he put a smile on people's faces. He is one of those very few people you only ever hear good things spoken about them. He's been taken far too early and will be sorely missed by so many. Deepest condolences to Serena and the wider family. RIP Bonny Lad.

It was such a shock to hear the news and led me to reminisce many happy memories of Craig. A really lovely guy who touched the lives of so many.
The Funeral was a really uplifting experience and the words from those closest to Craig were genuinely moving.
Farewell Craig my friend and may you rest in peace.
