Adrian Selby Morgan of Amroth Castle Farm died peacefully at home on 5th January with his family. He was the second of five children to David and Berta Morgan of Crossways, St. Florence and he spent a happy childhood growing up in the village. He attended school in St. Florence and later went to Selwyn House, Begelly and Lucton in Herefordshire.
Adrian married Sarah Ransom in 1970 and enjoyed over 54 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, his son, Charles, his daughter, Sophie and four grandchildren, Edward, Amelia, Morgan and Elisabeth.
Adrian farmed potatoes and livestock at Craig-y-Borion and Amroth Castle Farms. He was a huge support to his daughter and his son-in-law, Paul Oeppen, who farm locally. He also enjoyed spending time in the Cotwolds with his son, Charles, daughter in law, Pip and their family. He showed great commitment in caring for his wife in later years.
Adrian will be remembered as somebody who loved physical work and was happiest when loading potatoes or hay, hedge-laying or chopping logs. He enjoyed chatting to anyone he met and especially loved to talk about farming, the weather, horses, cars and music. He had a great sense of humour and was always ready to enjoy a joke or a funny story.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
There will be a private funeral service for close family before Adrian is laid to rest in St. Elidyr's Church, Amroth. The family would like to thank everyone who has sent warm messages expressing sympathy and fond memories. They have also been overwhelmed by the support and kindness offered by the Paul Sartori Foundation. Any donations made in Adrian’s memory to this wonderful cause will be gratefully received c/o E.C.
