In loving memory of Isabel Marion Kirk who sadly passed away on 18th December 2024. Always known to family and friends as Bella, she was married to Terry and had three sons, Simon, Jason and Damon. Bella was born in Liverpool and she was proud of her roots. Her childhood was interrupted by the war and she lived through air raids and near misses and collected shrapnel with her friends. She was an excellent student and excelled in botany, zoology and chemistry, leading her to go to University Medical School in London, where she became a research chemist! She loved going to musicals - West Side Story and My Fair Lady were her favourites!
In 1961 she married Terry and in the course of a long and happy marriage they had three sons - Simon, Jason and Damon! We lived in Kent. Bella was a brilliant mum - supportive, kind but never a pushover, there was no limit to what she would do for her boys.
Mum sat on many village committees for various bodies. She was forthright, straightforward and people were in awe of her. She tempered this by providing cheese and wine to help meetings along. Our house was always a popular venue for village meetings!
Mum was an animal lover, from the horses and donkeys she rode on holiday on the Isle of Man to the menagerie of cats and dogs that filled our house. Latterly she sponsored a cheetah and kept a keen eye on its welfare.
She also loved to travel - China, Australia, India, all over Europe. She also loved a cruise!
Last year we celebrated her 90th birthday at one of her favourite places, The Hilltop. She was surrounded by friends and family, which was just where she liked to be. She lived a good life and she leaves a lot of love behind. We will all miss her

Bella dedicated 26 years to Ash Green Sports Centre, serving as a receptionist. She witnessed the centre grow from its humble beginnings, offering just squash and badminton to now including a gym and a wide array of activities. Known for her strong and assertive nature, Bella wasn’t afraid to take charge when needed — but her dedication and hard work ensured everything ran smoothly. Her commitment to the centre and its community will be deeply missed by all who knew her, RIP Bella

Bella joined COUNCIL OF MANAGEMENT of the VA back in 1994 when she became Chairman of Greenland until she retired in 2010 . She was a brilliant Chairman and I think it is true to say that the workforce respected her in every way. She had an amazing way of getting them to do what needed to be done and the village benefitted hugely from her involvement. Her knowledge of greenland matters was second to none and my goodness she fought in the boys’ corner when others were not so quick to agree on what had to be done.!! Bella was a friend and colleague but latterly a friend. I will miss her and the village should miss her and appreciate all the hard work she devoted her time to make the village special. It was a pleasure Bella. RIP💐💕

You had a wealth of information Bella which would dryly pop out at opportune moments. I had the pleasure to serve with you on PCRS for many years( you being chairman of PC and Greenlands) You chaired our meetings traditionally Chairman report, Secretary repot, Treasurer report and then the wine came out!It was a clever move Bella as by the end of the meeting any disagreements had been forgotten. It was a pleasure to know you Bella you made a difference x
