Dear Andy, I know we drifted apart, which was a shame, but you have always been in our thoughts, especially on the birthday you and I share. For me you were an inspiration in so many ways, you certainly made me read more than I might have done had we not met. I loved and shared your sense of humour and remember plenty of good times going way back to around 1975/76. Natalie and I loved our trips with you and Cathy to Suffolk and Dorset and Lyme Regis, all the walks we did, those curries in Woodbridge, everything. I could keep on writing but you’d only get bored so I’ll stop.

On 20th December 2024, Andrew Penfold sadly died after persevering with cancer for some time. He was at home with his family, and we had hoped that he would be with us for longer, but unfortunately we saw a quick decline towards the end of last year.
We will be holding a ceremony to say farewell to Andrew on 14th February at Randalls Park Crematorium, from 1.15pm - all are welcome to come and pay their respects. We would then like to invite you to join us back at the family house after the ceremony, to share memories and a toast to Andrew. If you would like to join us for this, then please let us know.
6 Smoke Lane, Reigate, Surrey RH2 7HJ.
If you would like to send flowers, that is most kind, but we would be very grateful if you'd consider a donation to Maggie's in Andrew's memory, as an alternative. Maggie’s is a charity that provides free expert care and support to cancer patients and their families; during Andrew's treatment we saw first hand the compassionate work they do.
We hope to see you soon, best wishes.
Catherine, Ali and Maddie.
