In loving memory of Gail Ann Rigley who sadly passed away on 28th December 2024 age 67 years.

Gail Rigby was born in 1957 in Bolton, Lancashire to her close family and
parents Tommy and Hazel. Gail attended Westhoughton primary and
secondary school. After seeing an advertisment in the Bolton Evening News
for waitresses and with the hotel owner seeking 'Lancashire lasses' she began
working in The Norcliffe Hotel, Torquay at just 17 years old with her close
childhood friend Pauline. They went on to work at the esteemed location; The
Duke of Richmond Hotel in Guernsey.
In 1977, Gail married her first husband and welcomed her two eldest children,
Lloyd and Rachel. In 1984, she married Alan, with whom she shared a devoted
partnership and their youngest child, Gareth. Recently, Gail and Alan
celebrated their 40th Ruby Wedding Anniversary, a testament to their
enduring love.
Gail’s life was enriched by her passions, including her love of animals, flower
arranging, fundraising and her dedicated service to St John’s Church and Hall. Above all,
she cherished the relationships she built over her lifetime. She leaves behind
her beloved husband Alan, her close sister Lynn, her three children, her
grandchildren and a circle of close and dear friends who will remember her
warmth, kindness and at times, whimsical spirit.

I first knew Gail in the late 1980's when we ran the Sir Winston pub near where Gail and Alan lived. They started as customers and became friends. We kept in touch over the years and I was so sorry to hear about her illness and now her passing. Our condolences to Alan and the family. She was such a lovely lady and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
